Prior to joining the Franchise & Business Law Group, Mr. Whitaker served as in-house and outside counsel for both startup and well-established companies. His primary goal is helping businesses maximize their potential by avoiding legal pitfalls and developing an overall risk-management strategy. He loves working with entrepreneurs that have fresh and innovative ideas. His practice areas include: corporate, franchise, employment, trademark, firearms, and other related fields of law.

Mr. Whitaker is admitted to practice in Utah and in the United States District Court for the District of Utah.

In 2013, Mr. Whitaker received a Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from the S.J. Quinney College of Law and a Master of Business Administration degree from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah.

As a student associate in the Lassonde New Venture Development Program, Mr. Whitaker was able to work closely with startup companies, providing them with business advice and strategic legal planning in order to bring their product to the marketplace. Prior to attending law school, he graduated magna cum laude from Utah State University.
